  • Senior Consultant Neurologist - The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Health Service
  • Director Neurogenetics Laboratory - Basil Hetzel Institute
  • Clinical Lecturer - Department of Medicine, The University of Adelaide

Specialist Training:

  • Graduated from the Flinders University School of Medicine in 1993
  • Completed Basic Physicians Training in 1997
  • Completed Neurology Specialist Training and awarded fellowship into the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2000.
  • Awarded PhD in Medicine (University of Adelaide) in December 2004

Clinical and Research Interests:
Dr Jannes's research interests lie in the genetic predisposition of stroke. His recent discovery of a gene that causes stroke has received international exposure and he was the recipient of the prestigious National Stroke Foundation "New Investigator Award" in 2003.
